The "JANOS BORNEMISZA ASSOCIATION FOR TRADITION PRESERVATION" was established in 1999. Our goal is to present and preserve the old military traditions as a part of Hungarian national culture.

The Association is meaning to reconstruct the martial-art and lifestyle of a Hungarian foot soldier and rifle man (HAJDU) from the 16 - 18th centuries.
On the reconstructing events of the "Freedom Fights in 1848-49" we are taking part as Hungarian insurgents.

Our weapons and uniforms are displayed in the photo gallery.
In case of request from our friends we are wearing uniforms from different ages as well.

Janos Bornemisza of Tengod (152? Tengod - 1589 Gyor) was a famous soldier of his time:

- from 1571 to 1575 he was the Lieutenant Colonel, and later the Colonel of trans-Danube region;

- from 1575 to 1577 he was the military commander of Kanizsa territory.

Our Association is a member of the following organizations:

- Hungarian Cavalierly and Military Tradition Preservation Association;

- World Association for Hungarian Tradition Preservation;

- Association of Patriot and Society Circles

Our main events:

- Bornemisza Cup (and of October each year in Tengod);

- Bornemisza Academy (and of November each year).

Our Association is happy to cooperate with other organizations, and fulfills all invitations, received by appropriate timing.
